Bela and Boris

These are just some caricature studies of two of my favorite icons. I was doing them for fun one night while taking a break from working.

Bela Lugosi, Hollywood's dark prince.

Boris Karloff, the gentle monster.

I'll post more stuff another time, when I'm not so busy.
Well, back to work!

Weird late night drawings. I really don't know, haha.

Burk the boar, he's the first mate.

Particularly fond of this one. Dr. Krunch battles the SEA BATS!

For everyone who has looked at every one of my 100 posts, I hope you have made some kind of confused, disgusted, joyful, manic or zombified expression 100 times for each post!!!

I think its grand and thanks to everyone who's been checking out my art!

Ghosts and Goblins of 2010!!!

"When the Ghosts wail and sing,
The Goblins ears do sting,
And the harvest moon's the biggest it's been,
this year on Hallowe'en!"

Today is Halloweeeen!!! The one night where ghosts and goblins steal candy from innocent children...well maybe...anyway, here's some art and other festivities that led up to this day!

I was extremely inspired by these old 1920's costumes I found.

They were basically variations of the clothing style of that time but with pumpkins and cats as buttons or scarves. Really awesome, so I had to draw the coolest ones! It would be really interesting to go back in time and see how everything was back then...

Check out dis smirking pumpkin I carved when I was visiting home! I think he's got the hots for you!

We also got a swan gord which I had wanted to paint to look like a witch but instead it started to look like Gonzo mixed with the Joker.

Talula made friends with the pumkin!

And here is my costume!!!

It was always a dream of mine to be an extra on a Planet of the Apes movie. I love that makeup so much.

Lastly here's a cool Halloween song you can listen to!

So I hope everyone has a great Halloween! I'm going to the NYC Halloween parade today and will definitely take some pictures of that to post!

Happy Haunts,

I think its about time I talk about my final year thesis film, that I've been so busy with!

The story is about a very angsty teen girl (Sydney) who works for a boring postal service and delivers a package to a very strange house.

SpoooOOOOoOOOOoooky! Anyway, she gets abducted by the inhabitants of the house. She discovers the package she delivered was a strange looking blender that they apparently want to put her in!

Dr. Frappe is the mad scientist! Who knows what horrors his evil blendering plot will lead to!

Boyle is his hunchbacked assistant. He does all the dirty work and gets nothing but a kick in the head or a splinter in the eye in return.

And Oogle! The brain dead monster with the blender on his head! Why is the blender on the his head? You will soon find out!

Will Sydney escape this dreadful situation? Will she be made into some kind of evil milkshake?
Only 6 months of extremely grueling animation work will tell!

Thank you.

Tardy Dorm Post! Plus Sketches!

So howdy everyone! I know this is very very belated but let me show you my dorm! I never dormed before and since this is my last year at college I wanted the full college experience of living on my own. I moved in like the beginning of this month and have settled in quite nicely.

Pretty nice, for a dorm yea. I had to bring all my kooky things so I can be inspired when working on my thesis (which I will post about soon).

And now onto some sketches cuz I know I'm sick of posting photos!

Drawings at the park of people...and a squirrel!

Doodles at the diner of cats, Little Bear, a wolf, a white trash muppet and some dumb video character.

Griffins are awesome!

Mostly inspired by the Maurice Sendak book "The Griffin and the Minor Canon" and the Gryphon from Alice in Wonderland.

Hush hush comes the Boogey Man!

And last but not least, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective! Drawn while watching both movies. Jim Carrey is a living cartoon, I swear.

Aaaaaaaaaaall righty then!

Thanks for all the new recent followings and comments! See ya next time!

My Final Summer Vacation...

Yes, thats right. I graduate from college later this year so this was my last summer vacation from school. And I gotta say, it was one of the best. So I already posted my Maryland trip, right after that I headed to Utah to see Tara and her family.

We went to an awesome drive-in movie lot! Tara had her wisdom teeth out that morning and thinks she looked all drugged up. I look more drugged up in this picture, haha. We saw Toy Story 3 (awesome!) and Sorcerer's Apprentice (fucking stupid as shit).

I also found these cool finger puppets, and I only bought them because they looked like all my friends! Well...I can see the resemblance...

For our two year anniversary we went to this great place called the Mayan. Its like rainforest cafe but without the talking animals. Oh and people jumping off of rocks into a lagoon!

We played mini golf with her family at an indoor amusement park, Hollywood Connections. Tara's mom won...

They had the coolest...merry go round...I'm on a goat, mother fucker, don't you ever forget!!!

The Hogle Zoo, was cool! I found out I'm the same height as an adult male gorilla.

I was laughing at this guy cuz he just made a poop.

After that, we flew back to NY to join my family at our block party, where we did face painting for the little neighbor kids.

Aaaaand then we went to Magic Kingdom in Florida. Haha, my grandpa lives there and my mom wanted all of us to visit him. Check out Brer Zach and his Brer kin.

I made Tara go on Splash Mountain with me. She didn't wanna go on it. That ride is a goddamn tease! Sitting through the pleasant imagery of the Song of the South characters and the nice songs doesn't really mask the immense fear of going down a huuuge drop at the end of the ride. It was awesome!

We got a picture by Uncle Walt...and some weird fat guy in a blue shirt...

Yea, we're on a jet ski...what of it?

Lookit that! On the Mt. Dora canal! Such a cool view.

I got a lot of souvenirs but I found these two gems at a flea market! The little Mickey is from the 70's and speaks spanish! And if anyone's interested in the phone, let me know. The guy said its right from one of the Disney hotels.

We did a ton of other stuff that is not documented in our photos, but I have to say it was one of the most eventful summers I ever had. And right now, I'm just lookin back at it and being happy. I miss Tara so much, but I know we're going to see each other again. Long distance is hard, but its worth it for us. You can go to her blog to see what stuff she posted.

Well, tomorrow I move into my dorm for college. THESIS YEAR! Its no big deal, the city is like 2 hours away from my house. But I might make a post about it...sooo...keep watch! I got a couple art things I'll post later on too.

Thanks for reading!
