Dirk Inked My Sketch!!! Plus PUPPETS

Hey hey! So, Dirk is one of my best artistic friends, and you might remember our trade war going on a while ago. Well he just raised a new bar! He inked and colored one of my sketches!

Here's his version.

And here's mine. He obviously took A LOT Of liberties with his, but that's why I love it!

Its so eerie. I see things in there that are mine and make it seem like its my drawing, but then I see Dirk's style in there and it seems like its his...either way its still awesome! Once I free some time I'm going to return to the favor!

Also check out his awesome webcomic The SWEFS!

One more thing!! I'd like to announce that I've been doing some character design work for
Furry Puppet Studios!

(I did NOT design this guy lol)

Don't let the name fool you, their puppets are extremely professional and totally out there!!! I'm extremely happy to be doing work for them. We just completed a recent project which I can't speak about yet, but it should be pretty cool! I'll post sketches once I get permission to!

Recent Caricature Commissions

Here are some commissions I did over the holiday break. I'm glad that they were all caricatures since I've been bitten by the Hirschfeld bug. I really love doing them, so expect more in the future!

John Lennon and Yoko Ono for an old high school friend.

Lemmy from Motorhead.

and Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top for the same mustached maniac who commissioned my previous Frank Zappa drawing as a tattoo (these are tattoos aswell!).

Damn, I'm surprised I've been posting as much as I have lately. Well these were done over the break so its not like I'm compromising my thesis work.

WELL! See ya!

Sleepy Sketches from the Hollow

HOWDEE! Here's some stuff from last semester (which sounds like it was long ago but it actually wasn't.) (weird). In my character design class we had to design the characters from Sleepy Hollow in our own styles. I had tons of fun with them.

Ichabod Crane

Brom Bones

Katrina Van Tassel

The Headless Horseman (not cleaned up)

I'll color those guys some day. Now have some random sketches!

Cameo appearance by my pal Danny Jackson. Check out his stuff!

(Me at 8 in the morning)

The End! Now back to work....

Ghosts of the New Year!

Well well well...Happy New Year Everyone! 2011, can you believe it, huh? CAN YOU? This year was cray cray! A lot of thesis work and a lot more to do! So for now I'm gonna post some stuff from my pitchbook project we had to do.

My show is called "Dem Spooks" and is about three ghosts who roam around trying to find a peaceful place to haunt.

"Da Spook" self proclaimed leader and tough guy. Was probably a 30's mobster in his past life, hence the hat and bullet holes in his head. He can be a grumpster since he kinda misses his living life and doesn't like adjusting to his new ghostly body.

"Dis Spook" the positive happy energetic one. He's very happy to be a ghost since his living life was shit. His neck was stretched out from being hanged and he has shackle cuffs on his wrists. He loves playing the banjo and acts as the voice of reason for the trio.

"Dat Spook" the depressing, nervous, spook. When Da and Dis found him his head was missing so they replaced it with an umbrella. He's basically like a nerdy child that Da and Dis have to look out for since he's so small and weak. Though he gives them a purpose by watching out for him.

I don't really have a desire to make this into a show or pitch it to a big network. Just did it for fun/good grade. I do have some other stuff to post but I'll save it for another post.

In the mean time, lets see what 2011 chucks at my face!
